PLASMA LIFT – A SIMPLE ANSWER TO THE AGING PROCESS

As our bodies get older, the skin loses elasticity and begins to sag, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the skin around our eyes. This manifest itself in the form of crow’s feet, hooded eyes and droopy skin under the eye. Often tired looking or hooded eyes are a hereditary feature which become more pronounced over time. Until recently the only way to deal with this issue around the eyes was through Blepharoplasty, a surgical procedure that is extremely effective in the improvement of puffy eyes, heavy or hooded lids, crow’s feet and bags. Results are long-lasting if not permanent.

PLASMA EYE LIFT IS AEFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO SURGERY

Surgery is a major decision. A much simpler and cost-effective alternative to going under the knife is Plasma skin tightening. With no knives, no heavy anaesthetic, no stitches, and a fairly quick recovery, a Plasma Lift is extremely effective at improving the youthful look of eyes, without the hassle and anxiety that comes with surgery!

WHAT IS A PLASMA LIFT?

Plasma procedure is a relative new innovation, first introduced in 2014. It works in a precise way by ionising gas particles of air between the instrument and the skin. The resulting electrical arc removes the excess skin around the eye by vaporising. No heat is transferred between the instrument and patient leaving very little surface or long last damage to the skin.

THE PLASMA EYE LIFT PROCEDURE

The plasma eye lift procedure is fairly quick – the session can last between 30 to 90 minutes, depending on how many treatment areas you are having. The treatment does require a local anaesthetic in a form of a lotion, which is applied to the skin around the eyes. There may be a little discomfort throughout, but the experience is not particularly painful in any way.

LONGEVITY AND AFTERCARE

Plasma eye lifts have been proven to last just as long as their surgical alternatives. In more extreme cases, repeat treatments may be necessary, but multiple Plasma treatments are far less invasive and inconvenient than the surgical options.
When the treatment is finished, there will be small brown spots present on the skin around the eyes (known as carbon crusts). This is quite normal and soothing aftercare balms will be applied immediately after the procedure to aid the healing process. We will also provide you with a thorough aftercare plan and advise the best products to apply.

  1. However tempting it may be, do not touch, itch or rub your carbon crusts. They will take longer to heal, and this could lead to scarring.
  2. Avoid direct heat sources for 4 weeks after treatment. No sunbeds, direct sun exposure, saunas, UV sources or hot kitchens!
  3. Apply recommended moisturisers and medical concealers diligently until the crusts have fallen off naturally.
